My MOOC Goals
In this MOOC, you are free to explore
the four major areas of the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDG's) through the 4 main sections that have been created (Poverty, World Health Issues, Education and Sustainability). You may choose to explore one
specific area of interest, or explore all 4 of them, it is completely up
to you.
Your overall task will be to take on the role of a member of the UN council. As an influential council member, you have been asked to present a case to the UN about which one of the 8 Millennium Development Goals you feel is most important to focus efforts on in the coming years.
Building on what you have learned while working through the components, activities and reflections of the various sections of the MOOC, develop arguments justifying why you feel the specific goal you have chosen should be the priority of the UN and why you feel that area is more important/more of a priority than the other 7.
In the end, you will present your arguments in the format of an online debate, illustrating what you have taken away from the various activities and explorations conducted throughout this course.
Remember, in this MOOC participation is very important, so please contribute as much as possible to the interactive elements provided, such as the discussion forums. The more you participate and interact with other learners, the more we will all learn from one-another.
